Epinions A Rare Find - Best Dehumidifier I've Owned

by  sobi,  Jun 11, 2008
Pros: Very quiet - really! Pulls a lot of moisture.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a quiet and efficient medium-size dehumidifier, look no further.
Review: I replaced a rattling, two-year-old energy-sucking Whirlpool with this unit. All I can say is I'm actually impressed at how quiet this one is. I measured the noise level with my dB meter, and it's about 6 dB quieter than the Whirlpool, but it's not just ...

Epinions Marbles at First; Second Excellent!

by  defelicef,  Apr 30, 2008
Pros: Replacement unit is quiet and absorbs water like a sponge!
Cons: Inconsistant Quality... MAKE SURE YOURS HAS THE "HICKLY" COMPRESSOR!
Review: My turn to do a good deed for my fellow consumers! Bought my first LG LDH45ELY at Home Depot five weeks ago. Good thing I saved the box... after three days it sounded like marbles were inside... I MEAN LOUD! I purposely returned the original unit at ...

Epinions Features Very Good, Operation Questionable

by  macluc,  Oct 12, 2008
Pros: Auto-shutoff, electronic desired humidity setting, full-bucket alerts, rear gardent hose connection.
Cons: Too many to list, read review above.
The Bottom Line: I would only recommend this unit for an unoccupied, less than 800 sf area with temps above 65F.  Do not keep a unit with a Hichly compressor.
Review: The LG LHD45EL Dehumidifier is okay, but not the best. Claimed Features: 5 yr. warranty, 45 pint day ability, 21 pint bucket, low temperature operation (42F 6C), auto restart, Dual LCD display for current humidity desired humidity levels, a ...

Epinions Great way to ruin your carpet

by  gjs2478,  Sep 14, 2008
Pros: Quiet motor, good moisture control
Cons: Leaks, leaks, leaks!!!
Poor construction & engineering
Review: BUYER BEWARE!!!This unit was great at removing moisture from the air. However, it deposited it right into my carpet. The housing for the catch bucket was loose and therefore the vibration from the motor would move the bucket enough that ...

Epinions Take Your Chances - Doesn't Last

by  gt1014,  Jul 29, 2008
Pros: Sort of worked for awhile, then quickly deteriorated.
Cons: Loud, doesn't work as well as an older Sears unit, didn't last.
Review: If you want a dehumidifier that only lasts 2 years, get one of these. I replaced a 15 year old Sears workhorse with this obviously lesser quality but more expensive unit. The other reviewers seem to like theirs and maybe they were lucky - with their ...
