Epinions Don't overlook this mid-size SUV - a woman's view

by  oldbikerhen,  Sep 10, 2005
Pros: reliability, looks, performance
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: Seriously look and test drive this vehicle. It was far superior to the others in the same mid-size class. The ride is superb.
Review: We first started looking for a new vehicle in 2002 to replace our family mini-van, which was on it's last legs. The original plan was to check out the Chevy Trackers, but my husband is an extremely cautious and logical man. As well as not caring for ...

Epinions Now This is Wonderful!

by  theawesome1,  Jun 3, 2002
Pros: 6 year Bumper to bumper warranty & road service, 10 year transy. SECURITY IS #1
Cons: The gold SUV in the ads is actually an ugly yellowish color called Sandstone.
The Bottom Line: Run don't walk to buy one, it is a dream car!!!
Review: Having done a Hyundai test drive 10/01 on a new SUV called the Sante Fe. I loved it! It comes in 4 or 6 cylinder, FWD, AWD, or 4WD. We had a '99 Elantra so we still have 2 years on the bumper to bumper warranty so no need to shop for a car. But ...

Epinions A Hyundai???

by  mrwasem,  Jan 12, 2002
Pros: Comfortable SUV drives like a sportscar
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Excellent SUV! You won't regret your purchase.
Review: Prior to purchasing a Ford F-150 4x4 a couple years back, I had owned a Ford Explorer and Chevy Blazer. With our frequent ski trips from our home in the Seattle area, we need a good 4x4 vehicle. With last year's high gas prices, I started researching a...

Epinions A Great Buy - Satisfied!

by  pdt66,  Aug 1, 2002
Pros: Styling, Value, Handling, Extras, Price
Cons: 181HP - Could Use More
The Bottom Line: The Santa Fe is definitely a best buy in its class with an unbeatable warranty. You won't regret buying! I highly recommend it!
Review: I researched and test drove the Mazda Tribute/Ford Escape, Jeep Liberty and the Toyota Rav 4 and kept coming back to the Santa Fe. In my opinion, it beat them all out as the best all around value and had the most features for your money, with very few...

by  funkdoctor8,  Apr 23, 2008
Pros: Handles wonderfully. Stylish, different, seems reliable.
Cons: Acceleration from stoplight could be better.
The Bottom Line: Definitely would recommend purchase if you are looking for a mid-sized SUV with good value, excellent handling, and something different.

Epinions Enthusiastic owners sold us!

by  rparkfam,  Apr 5, 2002
Pros: Superior design, crash test, nice handling, great visibility, easy parking, good pricing, styling, details.
Cons: No side air bags. 181 hp V6 ok, but could use a little more hp.
The Bottom Line: Great price. Good on snow, wet, dry, dirt roads. Perfect in town, comfortable on highway. Great visibility, handling, detailing, styling. Good on safety tests. Owners love it.
Review: We stopped Santa Fe owners in parking lots and at fast food outlets and checked websites (Epinions, Santa Fe Forum) and did a Google search. Owners LOVE this car. Everyone said it was great in snow, in town, reliable and fun to drive. One man said his...

Epinions 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS

by  parcemi,  Jun 8, 2002
Pros: Far more for the money compared to all others in its class.
Cons: Not the best interior cloth material (but it's still completely livable).
The Bottom Line: I absolutely recommend this car. It truly is the best in its class for value.
Review: I conducted serious and lengthy research on all the smaller SUVs. At first I was mentally discarding Hyundai simply because of its past reputation. However, as I read more about each of the cars in its class/price range, I realized that Hyundai has come...

Epinions Perfect SUV on a budget

by  littlequincy,  Oct 29, 2003
Pros: Lots of features for the money. Looks great. As easy to drive as a car.
Cons: Could use some more horsepower, but that's about it.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this car. You can't beat the features and smooth handling for the money. And how about that great warranty?
Review: My family was looking for an SUV with features and storage capacity that wouldn't break our budget. We found it in the Santa Fe. It includes just about all of the standard features that you would find on more expensive models, at a more economical price ...

Epinions Try it-You'll like it.

by  btfjf,  Sep 13, 2002
Pros: Price/ Warranty / Interior space / Styling / handling
Cons: Dash lights dim on very sunny day(hard to read odometer)1st gear ratio
The Bottom Line: Buy it- but avoid it if your a big outdoors (meaning back country /heavy off road) person- it is a bit underpowered for some backwoods type of areas.
Review: I have the 4 cylinder/5 speed manual transmission GLS. I have found that though most people feel it is under powered(even with a 6 cylinder engine) I have found that the manual tranny allows me to pick shift rpm's, thereby enabling me to have a little...

Epinions Affordable Fun for Years to come

by  magickli,  Mar 15, 2002
Pros: Fun to drive and affordable
Cons: plastic feel to some of the interior
The Bottom Line: Great looking and great price with a worry free warranty.
Review: It was time for a new car, a replacement for a gas guzzling SUV that was not that old but proving prone to problems. We still wanted the SUV look and capabilities but the prices were out of our range. Or so we thought.
I use to work in the car...
